Getting Around

London has great public transport links across the city. The maximum time you will have to wait for a train is usually no more than 3 minutes. You may be aware of the famous underground, but the bus links and overground trains are also great ways to travel around London.

TUBE

When travelling on the underground, we suggest you buy an Oyster card (£5 refundable deposit) which will allow you to travel cheaply across London. The Transport for London (TFL) website (http://www.tfl.gov.uk) contains live departure information, as well as bus and overground train routes. The following link contains a map of the underground: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/maps/track/tube

TAXI

Catching taxis in London is very cheap and easy. The famous black cab has taken us home many times after a late night in London. They are very easy to find and simply flag down a taxi with the light on. We use Uber to travel across London as it is safe, cheap and very reliable. To use Uber you will need to download the app onto your smartphone. Hailo is another smartphone app that you can download, which allows you to book black cabs.

If you prefer to call a mini cab company, then Swiss Cottage Cabs is the cheapest in London ( 0207 433 1000).

However the best way to check out London (if the weather is good) is to walk around town there is so much to see and take in, and a great way to burn calories!
